 If a person becomes too ill during the month of
Ramadan and finds it difficult to keep the fast due
to his illness, he is allowed to miss the fast.

any time of the year and there are no prospects of him
getting better then it is permissible for him not to fast
and just pay the ransom.

“when it is the first night of the month of Ramadan the
evil devils are chained.thegate of fire are locked-not a
single gate is opened, andthe gate of paradise are opend–
not a single gate is locked, anda caller calls out: O seeker
of good come forward and o seeker of evil withhold, and
there are many whom Allah free from fire-and that is every
night”.

his food and passions for My pleasure.
There are two joys for the fasting person: a joy at
time of breaking the fast and a second joy at the time
of meeting his Lord on the day of Judgement.
Virtues of Fasting
