habits? 
Can be defined as the habits acquired 
during life that influence our food. 
Eating a balanced, varied and 
sufficient diet accompanied by 
physical exercise is perfect to be 
healthy. 
A varied diet should include foods 
from all food groups in sufficient 
quantities to meet our energy and 
nutrient needs.
Importance of healthy eating habits 
To stay healthy and strong, it is very important to have adequate food. 
Not only is the amount of food we eat, but also its quality, as both influence the 
proper maintenance of our health. 
Therefore it is necessary to know what gives us each food, so knowing how to choose 
a dish or menu healthier.
What is a healthy diet? 
The food we eat during the day should be divided 
into five outlets: 
• Breakfast 
• Lunch 
• Dinner 
• Mid-morning snack and snack
Food pyramid 
It is a guide that helps us learn how 
to choose foods that we include in 
our diet, thus achieving a healthy, 
varied and balanced diet in a simple 
way.
Mediterranean 
Diet 
The Mediterranean Diet is based on 
the consumption of olive oil, bread, 
fruits, nuts, vegetables, legumes, fish, 
eggs, cheese, yogurt, and rice. 
This diet is associated with an active 
lifestyle and healthy life, which is 
performed daily exercise.
Water: Essential for life 
Water is the main component of 
the human body, accounting for 
between 50-70% of body 
weight. 
An adequate hydration is 
essential if we are to maintain 
physical and mental health.
Importance of psysical activity 
The practice of daily exercise is vital for proper 
health. 
Therefore it is desirable to reduce the time dedicated 
to sedentary activities or tasks as sitting at the 
computer, video games or watch TV. 
Physical activity provides many benefits for health10.
Healthy tips 
1/ Choose a varied diet, this ensures consumption of all nutrients required for maintenance your health 
2/ Eat everyday foods from all groups, to ensure a varied and healthy diet 
3/ Include in your diet five servings of fruits and vegetables to ensure good health 
4/ Respect your mealtimes; recalls that at least to do three meals a day, but ideally are five meals 
5/ Reduce intake of saturated fats and avoid fast foods 
6/ Monitor your body weight 
7/ Avoid sugary drinks 
8/ Do exercise every day
