2. MARS
No planet has ever evoked so much interest than
Mars.
This was due to the observations made by the
Italian astronomer, his name is Giovanni Virginio
Schiaparelli who observe/discover the planet mars
in 1877.
3. MARS
He observed thin lines on the surface of Mars
which he called canals or channels.
Space probes showed that canals do not exist
in Mars. They are only optical illusions.
It has no free oxygen.
4. MARS
The atmosphere of Mars is composed primarily
of carbon dioxide and nitrogen with a small
amount of water vapor.
There are Winter,Spring,Summer and Autumn
periods.
5. MARS
During winter, polar caps shrink in size
until they disappear entirely during
summer.
In autumn, the polar caps are covered
with a thin haze of cloud.
7. MARS
Apparent magnitude - +1.6- -3.0
TEMPERATURE;
Equator (day)- 32°C
(nighttime)- -73°C
Poles- 0°C to -102°C.
8. NATURAL SATELLITE
It has two natural satellites or moons
Phobos (fear)-the larger and closer of the
two natural satelliteof Mars.
Phobos is 7.24 times as massive as the
second moon Deimos.
10. DEIMOS
Deimos (dead)- is composed of rock rich in
carbonaceous material, much like C-type asteroids and
carbonaceous chondrite meteorites.
It is cratered, but the surface is noticeably smoother
than that of Phobos, caused by the partial filling of craters
with regolith.
The two largest craters, Swift and Voltaire
