A Short Programme for Managers
Leading and Managing a Sustainable Improvement Culture
Most businesses already implement improvement activities, some on a formal basis using
methods such as Six Sigma or Lean, others on a less formal basis using improvement tools
and techniques. The challenge facing managers is in getting ‘improvement’ to be part of the
day job; owned by everyone. This programme aims to fast-forward sustainable changes
using management and implementation methods that can be replicated time over, ensuring
that the gains made are maintained and repeated.



About the Programme
This programme is designed to provide managers with fast-track approaches that support
and build improvement sustainability across their areas of responsibility and throughout the
supply chain.

Whether you are a manager with significant experience in delivering improvement activities,
or new to the role of leading improvements, this programme will present the key stages and
elements in developing a sustainable improvement culture which can repeatedly optimise
efficiency and effectiveness.




Our Approach
The programme involves two interactive and practical workshops based around the central
pillars of Business Acumen, Core Tools, Culture & Leadership, Support & Report. Key to
our approach will be providing participants with the opportunity to engage in activities and
discussions around improvement challenges in their current management roles.

A critical element of the programme is the Improvement Project itself where participants
will be required to follow the processes of identifying, defining, implementing, measuring &
reporting on improvement outputs. Participants will have access to one-to-one support with
improvement project areas.

Programme Delivery Schedule
The programme will be delivered in 2 blocks of 2 days with a gap to allow participants to
initiate, progress and receive support with their improvement projects. At the end of the
programme participants will be asked to report the successes and learning points for their
project using templates provided.

Our aim is to deliver programmes during Winter 2011 and Spring 2012 based upon a
minimum of 8 participants per programme. Programmes can be delivered either in-house or
at a venue to suit participating businesses.

Costs & Return on Investment
The programme fees are £500 plus VAT per person which is fully inclusive of all delivery,
programme materials, and individual support during the programme.

We expect each participant to be able to achieve a minimum return of £1,250 through their
improvement project, representing a 2.5 times return on the original cash investment on the
initial improvement activity alone.

About the Programme This programme is designed to provide managers with fast-track approaches that support and build improvement sustainability across their areas of responsibility and throughout the supply chain. Whether you are a manager with significant experience in delivering improvement activities, or new to the role of leading improvements, this programme will present the key stages and elements in developing a sustainable improvement culture which can repeatedly optimise efficiency and effectiveness. Our Approach The programme involves two interactive and practical workshops based around the central pillars of Business Acumen, Core Tools, Culture & Leadership, Support & Report. Key to our approach will be providing participants with the opportunity to engage in activities and discussions around improvement challenges in their current management roles. A critical element of the programme is the Improvement Project itself where participants will be required to follow the processes of identifying, defining, implementing, measuring & reporting on improvement outputs.   • 3. Programme Delivery Schedule The programme will be delivered in 2 blocks of 2 days with a gap to allow participants to initiate, progress and receive support with their improvement projects. At the end of the programme participants will be asked to report the successes and learning points for their project using templates provided.   • 4. Costs & Return on Investment The programme fees are £500 plus VAT per person which is fully inclusive of all delivery, programme materials, and individual support during the programme. We expect each participant to be able to achieve a minimum return of £1,250 through their improvement project, representing a 2.5 times return on the original cash investment on the initial improvement activity alone.
