1. MOBILE INFORMATION SYSTEM: MOVIEMATE
Pre-driving teens looking for a movie to see with friends

2. PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Currently, to organize an event, pre-driving teens must use a
number of different mobile applications to get all of the information
they need and their friends together.
Each separate service provides the user with excellent and detailed
information, however they are not designed to seamlessly integrate
with each other.
MovieMate takes features from many popular services such as
Google Maps, Fandango, and Facebook and merges them into
one application. In addition, the application provides the user with
a way to coordinate transportation for all of the people attending
the event.

9. DESIGN PROCESS: WHAT WE REALIZED
-What if a user wants to see which of his or her friends are
free before making plans?
-What if a friend is invited and they want to go but they don’t
want to see the movie that the coordinator has chosen?
-Can we add the order in which kids will get picked up if
they are car-pooling?
-Can users purchase the tickets through the application?
-What if a movie is rated R? Pre-driving teens will not be
old enough to see the movie without a parent.

14. SETTING THE SCENE
It’s Friday night and Alice is bored at home.
She wants to get a group of her friends
together to go see the movie True Grit.
She opens MovieMate on her iPhone*.
*We designed for the iPhone because it
is a very common phone among younger
people.
