  1. Poll for admin/teachers/tech peopleIntroductions and focus of our presentation---showing how we have taken steps to use our technology and increase rigor and relevance in our building
  2. Key elements that have helped to establish our culture at Hampton. We will focus on the elements of Coaching, how this supports our Technology use and the significance of Best Practice in our building along with several examples of these in all curricular areas.
  3. Lets start with coaching…how is coaching utilized in your district?
  4. Turn and talk: How does coaching play a role in your districts?Coachingin our building has evolved over the past five years from the CFF grant, mostly technology support, to an instructional coach that still emphasizes technology, but also has expanded to be more versatile in supporting district goals.
  5. The TPACK model captures the essence and ultimate goals of my role as a coach…helping teachers to move toward excellence, especially in areas of Technology and Pedagogy. Teachers and coach work together to identify areas of collaboration.
  6. Rigor and relevance has become a framework for measuring effectiveness of our assessments
  7. This slide defines the key components of a Quad D lesson
  8. The challenge is to reach the level of assessment where students transform information into something relevant.
  9. Overview of what these are and how they have been developed…our system for monitoring these types of assessments
  10. My role as a coach is to help teachers identify areas where rigor can be increased and supply support in doing so.
  11. Also to help identify and implement technology tools that boost rigor and relevance.
  12. Challenge for teachers, especially when a technology component is added.
  13. Also moved away from tech specific assessments…more about the project, not the technology.I used to do this type of thing and I would have a separate rubric for each option..but why? Shouldn’t the expectations be the same regardless of the vehicle?
