EMERGO is a methodology and toolkit that supports scenario-based learning through realistic case studies. The EMERGO toolkit allows teachers to develop and deliver cases independently using a web-based platform. It features reusable and adaptable components, scripting to support different scenarios and learners, and gaming elements for student engagement. The open source toolkit is built using Java, Spring Framework, and ZK Framework to provide a desktop-like interface within a browser. Student progress and case content are defined through XML for flexibility and customization.
