  2. 2. DEFINITION  Self confidence is the quality of believing in one self and ones abilities.  It includes in ones ability as expressed in increasingly challenging circumstances and confidence in ones decisions or opinions.
  3. 3.  The more confident you are the less disappointed you feel upon being rejected.  The more self confident you become the more risks you will be willing to take and so more opportunities you will encounter.  Less criticism will affect you.  Less anxious you will be.  Better power of solitude.  Capable of facing problems.
  4. 4. TRAITS OF SELF CONFIDENCE Self confidence encompasses two separate traits. 1. Self esteem 2. Self efficacy

SELF ESTEEM Self esteem reflects the individuals evaluation of his or her value.it is a feeling of satisfaction that someone has in himself or herself and his or her own abilities.If you have a high level of self esteem you will be confident,happy,highly motivated and have the right attitude to success.
  6. 6. Six pillars of self esteem according to Nathaniel Brandon. 1. Conscious living 2. Self acceptance 3. Taking responsibility 4. Self assertiveness 5. Purposeful living 6. Personal integrity
  7. 7. SELF EFFICACY Self efficacy is the belief in ones own capacity to perform, accomplish specific tasks and reach goals. Many thinkers argue that schools have a huge part to play in developing young peoples feeling of self efficacy.
  8. 8. WAYS TO IMPROVE SELF CONFIDENCE
  9. 9. DONOT GET BOGGED BY OTHERS OPINIONS ABOUT YOU
  10. 10.  Accept new challenges.  Learn to say NO to bad things.  Appreciate others, treat them with respect and be grateful for what they do for you.  Don’t hesitate to ask for help, if needed.  Use social media to connect with others.
  11. 11.  Dress neatly.  Practice good postures.  Communicate effectively.  Be ready and comfortable to apologize if you make a mistake.
  12. 12. CONCLUSION Confidence is the key to success. Some people are born with it, some have to work for it. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence. Being comfortable is the key to achievement and enjoyment in life, so start with some confidence.
