3. DETAIL OF DRESS
In this case study I have given the details of the design ,and have
included the following details :-
Flat Design :- An hour glass silhouette. the top is a dartless basic
bodice with short sleeves having fullness at cap and
hem. The neckline is v-shaped and the hemline is
straight. The skirt is a basic flared skirt with a 2’’band
Measurements :- The measurement chart for a medium (34’’) size,
female. Seam allowances have also been given.
Notions :- Zips, buttons, threads, and other requirements are
given in details.
Drafting Patterns:- 14 patterns are required for drafting. They are
in 1/8’’ Scale.
Estimation Sheet:- 76.3’’ of fabric is required for the construction
of the garment.
Fabric :- 100% Tubulized cotton of 45’’ yardage has been
used.
Color :- Cream color is used in the base and has beige
stripes outlined with red.
Seams :- Plain and Top seam has been used.
Design Variation:- Variation in seams, fabric, color, and design
that can be given

The variations that could be made in the design are
Fabric :- Which can be used : Cotton blends. Voile, Jorgettes,
Chiffons soft denims,
Which should be avoided: Wool, Brocades, Tusser silk,
Linen, Woolen blends,
Seams :- Double top seam, French seam, Abutted seam, Welt,
and Closed slot seam.
Color :- A wide range of colored fabrics can be used. All Whites,
muted,
the skirt we can use horizontal, vertical or diagonal stripes
checks :- even or uneven.
Design Variation:
Blended fabrics, self woven fabrics
pastels, and pale colors can be used for the top’
Whereas dark shades and tones of different colors can
be used.
Prints :- Floral and geometrical prints can be used in the top. In
