1. Evaluation- Green Peace
.
I used adobe Audition to cut down my
track of “I see fire” to 3 minutes. I
highlighted the bits I didn’t want and
deleted them using the waves of the
sound track as a guide.
I used the razor tool in Premier Pro to cut
down my images so they would be on the
screen for a shorter amount of time. I
then deleted the bits I didn’t need.I’v
reduced each picture to just under a
second per frame.
I used my camera on a low
AV to make the scene look
dark.
I had to adjust the lighting on some of the
pictures using Photoshop. First I used
image>adjustments>curves and lowered
the output to 170 to create a dull effect.
Then I used brightness/contrast option to
lower the brightness to -33.
2. I used the spot
healing brush tool
to blur the tripod
leg out of the
picture.
I layer both photos that I will use to fade f
scene to another and slowly decrease the
the 1st
layer; 100% > 85% >75%>50%>25%
For this scene I wanted to make her
eyes bluer so that it looks like she’s
crying although the tears are
cartoon.
First I used the quick selection tool
to highlight the eyes.
I then increased the brightness
file>adjustments>brightness/contra
st so I could then make the eyes
bluer in RGB curves.
3. Strengths and weaknesses
Overall I was very pleased with my finished product. I was particularly pleased the
bits in the video where there were small details that gave it character or made it
more realistic. For example the water droplets when she dives into the water and
when she shakes her hair. I think this worked well because we took more photos and
made smaller movement this made the video more fluent.
However a weakness of my advert was that sometimes it was inconsistant in how
fluent it was. This is clear from the scene where the girl walks through the forest. If I
were to do this again I’d make sure that the trees in the
background would move at the same level so that the end
resolt wasn’t so jolty. I would also make the arms movements
slower to make the character more life like.
Another strength would be, despite the lack of props you could still
understand the story. For example we used the same coloured sheet for the
water and the sky but you could still tell the difference. When she was falling from the sky her hair
was on end and the clouds were moving up. Where as in the water she held her breath and swam
Near the end of my video I wanted to have a
quote come on the screen that moved with
the animation. To do this I did title>new
title>default roll and the typed in my quote. I
did this by selecting the title I wanted to move
then effects controls>motion and selecting
the diamonds to put into the frames. The
more dots you spread across the frames the
slower it would move.
For the final scene I used the same tools but added
a fade effect so it would rise and have more impact
when the music stopped did this by doing video
transitions>dissolve>addictive dissolve. I used gold
writing because it has connotations of success. This
implies that if we work together we can overcome
such a big problem.
4. with the fish. One of my favourite parts in the advert was when she swam under water and tried to
touch the fish but it swam away.
Additionally If I were to do this project again I would time some of the scenes to the music. For
example the transition from her lying in the dirt to the forest. I would have timed that so that the
transition began on the first strum so the story was introduced with impact. I would have also timed
when she see’s the fire that the loudest part of the song “I see fire” would have been at that point.
This is my audience feedback.
5. Final Product
I managed to stick to my storyboard and match my proposal throughout production. If I were to do
this production again I would consolidate my schedule as I underestimated how long it would take to
make. This is also the first time I have made a stop-animation production, during the editing of the
production I learnt how to use adobe audition to make my sound track shorter.
