2. Our Challenge
Bournemouth is the second most popular destination for international students in the UK (second to London). There are at least 30 English Schools in the area so it’s important for schools to stand out.
Southbourne School approached us with a particular problem. Their website was quite tricky to navigate on a smaller screen. As a vast number of their students use their phones and tablets, they felt that this was a barrier.
So Southbourne needed our help to make a website that’s mobile-friendly.
Our Solution
Our role was to help make Southbourne School of English stand out from the crowd. Originally, most of the information for the school was placed on

the home page. We scrapped that, using rotating graphics and clear navigation to take the user to
the information that they need.
We included a Google translate element to the website, allowing international students to access
the information without a hitch.
So that the content was as clear and readable as possible, we brought our friends, copywriting agency A Thousand Monkeys, on board. They supplied us with smooth and simple copy to match the sleek website.
The Results
The response has been overwhelming with both students and agents commenting positively on
the new look and feel. We have seen mobile engagement rise and dwell time increase with
the new navigation structure.
