Learning from my chicken Elvira. (http://missionchicken.com/) She wanted to get out of the cage. The door was open, but she was just pacing back and forth along the fence. She was sure the exit would be there, and she behaved as if she was obsessed. Same thing with journalists that I surveyed: when they felt stressed, they lost their creativity, got obsessed with their solutions and didn’t find solutions. I want to break that pattern of getting obsessed for journalists in the ideation stage of the story process.\n
According to research, stress can block creativity, and reduction can increase creativity. (Sources at the end of the presentation). According to research, interaction with pets can reduce stress and anxiety. There are solutions for stress reduction, such as Stress Shift, a program for stress reduction and sel reflection.\n
Solutions for creativity such as WhackPack, giving inspiration for creative thinking and solutions.\n
There are programs for wellbeing with animals such as Animal Assisted Therapy, you can go to an urban farm or play Farmville. \nBut there is not a solution for stress reduction to improve creativity in the ideation process, nor a program using the therapeutic impact of animals which you could use systematically, by your mobile phone.\n
