 There are a variety of financial aid tools available to students today,
including scholarships, need-based awards, work-study employment and
student loans
 There is a separate application to apply for Financial Aid
 A scholarship might cover the entire cost of your tuition, or it might be a one-
time award of a few hundred dollars. Either way, it’s worth applying for,
because it’ll help reduce the cost of your education.
 International Students are eligible for Merit-based scholarships that are
based on a student’s skills or abilities

Applying for Visa
 Before applying for a visa, all student visa applicants are required to be
accepted and approved by their school or program.
 Once accepted, educational institutions will provide each applicant the
necessary approval documentation to be submitted when applying for a
student visa. Students can apply within 120 days from the start date of I-20
and can travel within 30 days from the start date of I-20.
 If you wish to engage in academic studies in the United States at an
approved school, such as an accredited U.S. college or university, private
secondary school, or approved English language program then you need an
F-1 visa.
 You will also need an F-1 visa if your course of study is more than 18 hours a
week.

Applying for Visa
 You can apply for a Tier 4 (General) student visa to study in the UK if you’re
16 or over and have been offered a place on a course
 Your education provider will send you a reference number called a
confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS) once they’ve offered you a
place on a course. You’ll need to enter this on your visa application.
 You must apply for your visa no more than 6 months after you receive the
CAS.
 You can apply for a visa up to 3 months before your date of travel to the UK.
 You should get a decision on your visa within 3 weeks.

 The number of international students who receive tuition grant in each of the
matriculation cohorts has decreased over the last few years from 2010.
 The tuition grants for international students total about $210 million per year,
which is less than 10% of the total annual subsidies to our tertiary institutions.
 International students who receive tuition grants are required to work in a
Singapore-based company for three years upon graduation to supplement our
labour force.

Applying for Visa
 Once you have received an acceptance letter (valid for two weeks)
from an institute of higher education in Singapore, you need to apply
for a Student’s Pass to be eligible to stay there.
 You should make your application for a Student’s Pass to the
Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (www.ica.gov.sg). You can do
this online using the Student's Pass Online Application & Registration
(SOLAR) system.
 Those applying for a Student’s Pass for the first time must submit
their application not more than two months, and not less than one
month, before their course begins.
 A processing fee of S$30 (INR 1,131.53) is charged for every
application submitted to the ICA. An additional issuance fee of S$60
(INR 2,262.91) must be paid once the Student's Pass is issued.

 Like most countries, the HKSAR government does not provide financial aid to
non-local students. However, thanks to the HK Government’s support for the
development of Hong Kong as an educational hub for students from around the
world, HKU tuition fees are very low by international standards
 Non-local students can undertake part-time work on campus during the
semester, and can work during their summer vacation in the city

 If you wish to study in Hong Kong as a school student you must
have a confirmed offer to study at a private academic institution.
 Applicants should complete application form ID 995A. The
Sponsors should complete application form ID 995B. The
application forms (ID 995A and ID 995B). The forms can also be
downloaded from the Immigration Department's website at
www.immd.gov.hk.
 Applicants residing in overseas countries or territories may
submit their application forms together with the relevant
supporting documents and their travel documents in person to
the nearest Chinese diplomatic and consular missions in their
place of domicile.

 The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) is
responsible for issuing visas for entry to Australia. Students who
are planning to study a CRICOS registered course are required
to obtain a student visa.
 The student has to be eligible for Streamlined Visa Processing
(SVP)
 To be eligible for SVP, students must not apply for a student visa
until the University issues the student with a CoE. A CoE is
normally issued after student acceptance (by returning to the
university the International Student Course Agreement and
paying the required course deposit).

visa for the period for which you have paid tuition fees (up to a
maximum of four years).
 If you are enrolling in a program of study for the first time, you
need to have an offer of place from a New Zealand education
provider.
 Your program of study must be approved by the New Zealand
Qualifications Authority (NZQA).

Urvashi Malik Financial Aid/Scholarships  There are a variety of financial aid tools available to students today, including scholarships, need-based awards, work-study employment and student loans  There is a separate application to apply for Financial Aid  A scholarship might cover the entire cost of your tuition, or it might be a one- time award of a few hundred dollars. Either way, it’s worth applying for, because it’ll help reduce the cost of your education.  International Students are eligible for Merit-based scholarships that are based on a student’s skills or abilities

Urvashi Malik Applying for Visa  Before applying for a visa, all student visa applicants are required to be accepted and approved by their school or program.  Once accepted, educational institutions will provide each applicant the necessary approval documentation to be submitted when applying for a student visa. Students can apply within 120 days from the start date of I-20 and can travel within 30 days from the start date of I-20.  If you wish to engage in academic studies in the United States at an approved school, such as an accredited U.S. college or university, private secondary school, or approved English language program then you need an F-1 visa.  You will also need an F-1 visa if your course of study is more than 18 hours a week.

Urvashi Malik Applying for Visa  You can apply for a Tier 4 (General) student visa to study in the UK if you’re 16 or over and have been offered a place on a course  Your education provider will send you a reference number called a confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS) once they’ve offered you a place on a course. You’ll need to enter this on your visa application.  You must apply for your visa no more than 6 months after you receive the CAS.  You can apply for a visa up to 3 months before your date of travel to the UK.  You should get a decision on your visa within 3 weeks.

Urvashi Malik Applying for Visa  Once you have received an acceptance letter (valid for two weeks) from an institute of higher education in Singapore, you need to apply for a Student’s Pass to be eligible to stay there.  You should make your application for a Student’s Pass to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (www.ica.gov.sg). You can do this online using the Student's Pass Online Application & Registration (SOLAR) system.  Those applying for a Student’s Pass for the first time must submit their application not more than two months, and not less than one month, before their course begins.  A processing fee of S$30 (INR 1,131.53) is charged for every application submitted to the ICA. An additional issuance fee of S$60 (INR 2,262.91) must be paid once the Student's Pass is issued.

The Sponsors should complete application form ID 995B. The application forms (ID 995A and ID 995B). The forms can also be downloaded from the Immigration Department's website at www.immd.gov.hk.  Applicants residing in overseas countries or territories may submit their application forms together with the relevant supporting documents and their travel documents in person to the nearest Chinese diplomatic and consular missions in their place of domicile.

  • 45. Urvashi Malik Applying for Visa  The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) is responsible for issuing visas for entry to Australia. Students who are planning to study a CRICOS registered course are required to obtain a student visa.  The student has to be eligible for Streamlined Visa Processing (SVP)  To be eligible for SVP, students must not apply for a student visa until the University issues the student with a CoE. A CoE is normally issued after student acceptance (by returning to the university the International Student Course Agreement and paying the required course deposit).
