The document summarizes the activities and themes of the Preschool Learning Center for the 2013-2014 year. It describes how the center used art-based themes each semester to teach preschoolers concepts like shapes, colors, science, history and more. Some of the themes included Impressionism, Expressionism, Collage, Sculpture, Surrealism and Pointillism. The second semester involved role-playing as different professions like scientists, athletes, gardeners and medical professionals. The summary concludes by thanking all the students, families, and staff who contributed to the preschool program.
6. So that we are all on
the same page…
Just as your children each had a
job each day…
Each teen was responsible for a
child as well as for creating a
lesson for the entire class, some,
more than others.
7. Okay so it all began with a trip to the Museum
of Modern Art in NYC last May…
8. So I knew that the next year I wanted things to
be different, I wanted the kids to be taught …

14. We were all on the
same page now,
Mrs. Wolff was no longer
feeling the need to pull her
hair out. In fact, she was
pleasantly smiling, thanks
to the help of Mrs. G!!
31. We all saw how the children learned
from art…
Shapes, colors, numbers, letters
And so much more…vocabulary
NOW WHAT?????????
The Semester ended…
32. Once again time to
figure out curriculum
for second semester…
How to do so without
Mrs. Wolff pulling out
her hair or going all
gray?
33. Have no fear, Child Care
students worked
together and came up
with a great list.
Children would become real
people:
Scientists
Athletes
Gardeners
Medical personnel
and so forth
79. Art-Music
Music Appreciation at its finest… the music in the afternoon dress
rehearsal was a little loud and not as familiar as the morning
session.
88. So as you could see, our
little village did a lot
using resources within
the BIG VILLAGE.
We already have plans to
expand those resources
even more next year.
101. And the most important helper…
Mrs. G. who keeps me in line, is my constant reminder, and has
great ideas and has become a terrific partner to me in this program.
102. To…
