C5 is proud to share this exclusive event, which will cover
all your pertinent needs from a European standpoint under
International Trade Defence Disputes. Whilst the number
and size of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures
against imports from non-EU countries have increased
throughout the manufacturing industry in Europe, so has
the importance of expertise to identify and manage the
risks. These expertise need to be held by the exporter to
the EU, retailer in the EU, importer and service provider,
as you can face significant liabilities from transacting with
goods subject to a trade defence measure and duty.
It is imperative to be aware of International Trade
Disputes and its global significance. At this most critical
stage, Europe is portraying a more proactive response
than seen historically. From this, Europe has witnessed a
dramatic increase in actions, which makes it increasingly
important to reduce or eliminate any risks organisations
are facing. There is ample evidence of successful
prosecutions of parties. Furthermore, the penalties and
adverse consequences for errors, whether inadvertent or
reckless, significantly outweigh any perceived short term
benefits. All major industries have been targeted under
protective measures. Therefore, ensure that you do not
fall foul or miss out on attending this forum to avoid
any turbulence.
At this most critical stage, become more proactive
by receiving award winning strategies and practical
informationfromexperiencedpractitioners,government
officials, representatives of top trade associations and
in-house counsel all in one room, to ensure:
•	You are aware of the ever changing threats to your
market, policy and regulation
• Tradedefencemeasuresareusedtoprotectyourbusiness
in the EU and on the markets of non-EU countries
•	Best practices for staying up-to-date and exercising
extreme caution with goods subject to anti-dumping or
anti-subsidy measures

  • 2. @C5Live #C5TradeDisputesTo register visit www.C5-Online.com/tradedisputes2 C5 is proud to share this exclusive event, which will cover all your pertinent needs from a European standpoint under International Trade Defence Disputes. Whilst the number and size of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures against imports from non-EU countries have increased throughout the manufacturing industry in Europe, so has the importance of expertise to identify and manage the risks. These expertise need to be held by the exporter to the EU, retailer in the EU, importer and service provider, as you can face significant liabilities from transacting with goods subject to a trade defence measure and duty. It is imperative to be aware of International Trade Disputes and its global significance. At this most critical stage, Europe is portraying a more proactive response than seen historically. From this, Europe has witnessed a dramatic increase in actions, which makes it increasingly important to reduce or eliminate any risks organisations are facing. There is ample evidence of successful prosecutions of parties. Furthermore, the penalties and adverse consequences for errors, whether inadvertent or reckless, significantly outweigh any perceived short term benefits. All major industries have been targeted under protective measures. Therefore, ensure that you do not fall foul or miss out on attending this forum to avoid any turbulence. At this most critical stage, become more proactive by receiving award winning strategies and practical informationfromexperiencedpractitioners, government officials, representatives of top trade associations and in-house counsel all in one room, to ensure: • You are aware of the ever changing threats to your market, policy and regulation • Tradedefencemeasuresareusedtoprotectyourbusiness in the EU and on the markets of non-EU countries • Best practices for staying up-to-date and exercising extreme caution with goods subject to anti-dumping or anti-subsidy measures Highly Interactive Pre-Forum Working Groups – Monday 19 October 2015: Working Group A: A Practical Guide on Trade Defence Measures and How They Can Impact Your Business Working Group B: Navigating Through the Procedures of Trade Defence: The Complexities of the Process European Commission: Maria Åsenius Head of Cabinet Commissioner MALMSTRÖM Trade, European Commission (Belgium) Jean-Francois Brakeland Legal Service DG Trade European Commission (Belgium) Gerhard Hannes Welge Hearing Officer* European Parliament Christofer Fjellner MEP, European Parliament (Belgium) Court of Justice of the European Union: Pascale Hecker Referendaire, Court of Justice of the European Union (Belgium)* World Trade Organisation: Vasiliki Avgoustidi Dispute Settlement Lawyer, WTO (Switzerland) Member States: Stephen Johnston Economic Advisor, Trade Policy Unit International, Trade and Export Control Directorate, Dept Business, Innovation and Skills (UK) Torsten Anderson Director for EU and International Affairs, Danish Business Authority (Denmark) Trade Associations Dr James Watson CEO, SolarPower Europe (Belgium) Ralph Kamphoner Director of Policy Eurocommerce (Belgium) Rene Van Sloten Industrial Policy Advisor CEFIC (Belgium) Stuart Newman Legal Advisor, Foreign Trade Association (Belgium) Sean Mackle Director, Trade & Economic Policy, Fertilizers Europe (Belgium) Receive Practical Strategies and Best Practices from: Delphine Neveux Global Customs Director Michelin (France) Dr Holger Hohmann Legal and Compliance Competition, Siemens AG (Germany) James Kenneth Lockett Vice President, Head of Trade Facilitation and Market Access, Huawei (China) Jodie Rousell Head of Public Affairs Trina Solar (Switzerland) Kees Wagenaar Senior Vice President Continental Europe, Expeditors International (Netherlands) Roberto Soprano International Trade Compliance Manager EMEAI, Huntsman (Belgium) Learn from leading lawyers, including: Arnoud Willems Partner, Sidley Austin (Belgium) Bogdan Evtimov Partner, Dentons (Belgium) Clive Stanbrook OBE QC McDermott Will & Emery (Belgium) Dr Georg Berrisch Partner, Baker Botts (Belgium) Dr Rainer Bierwagen Partner Beiten Burkhardt (Germany) Edwin Vermulst Partner, VVGB (Belgium) Folkert Graafsma Partner, Holman Fenwick Willan (Belgium) Prof. Jacques Bourgeois Senior Advisor Sidley Austin LLP (Belgium) James Killick Partner White & Case (Belgium) Daniel Cannistra Partner Crowell & Moring (USA) Lourdes Catrain Partner Hogan Lovells (Belgium) Paulette Vander Schueren Partner Mayer Brown (Belgium) Renato Antonini Partner, Jones Day (Belgium) Till Mueller – Ibold Partner, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton (Belgium) Yves Melin Partner, McGuire Woods (Belgium) Speaker’s Faculty Media Partner OGEMID
