targeting the young professionals and students it is
important to design the app that is Engaging and make it

the range of 18-25 years of age as they are large majority of people
that fulfil users requirements by using our App.
6. Persona
Maria Isabel, Age 22
Graduate Student at Stevens
• Maria is currently pursuing her graduate studies at
Stevens, and lives in the Campus Dorms. She
usually eats more than 4 times a week outside it
could be at the restaurants in and around Hoboken
or at Campus Cafeteria.
• She has very less knowledge of cooking, also she
says she does not have much time to cook and
some time uses ready to cook foods.
• So in order to get to the restaurants she usually
browses in her phone or uses Yelp app to get the
information about the restaurants.
• She is looking for mobile app that helps her find
near by restaurant details location and restaurant
information.
• Also since she is a student and works on campus to
manage her living, she would definitely wants an
app that helps her find deals/discounts that would
notify her by message or email
7. Competitors’ Products which is
similar to our App products
• Here, we consider Yelp as our competitors.
• Yelp and our App have some products similar.
• We both give facilities to search restaurant by
cuisine, deals and any events.
• Also provide contact details of particular
restaurant.
10. After Initial Design
• What related to targeted E
We used social media as an engaging factors where users can read & write
reviews and also post pictures.
• What relate to target Population
Our target population is 18-25 age years group who are most of
students and youth at Hoboken who always looking for good deals,
events, cuisine etc.
• Key aspects of design
The key aspect of our design is to engage the youth, make use of this app
effectively, since we are focusing mainly on youth we tried to keep it
attractive by syncing there popular Facebook and twitter to this app.
• How does it differ from competitors
Compare to other App such as Yelp our app is very simple with precise
information and attractive design which find users to understand very
easily and navigate efficiently.
• What is your measure to gauge whether E is improved or not
After designing the initial design we did a survey by sending the surveys to
our friends and they were happy as this app is keeping them engaging by
posting photos, knowing about the deals and also events that they want
to know in the nearest location.
11. User Feedback
• Content not designed properly and hence app seems incomplete
• User does not like to use app as user interface is poor and it does
not have attractive design
• People are expecting to add more features to navigate this App.

17. Review of Design
PAR Review
• Perception:
Our App mainly concentrated to target users which are
between 18-25 years. Hence, we created app with limited page
which keeps users easy to use, attentive and engaged with
interesting functionality. Moreover, user can find restaurant
which is located nearby.
• Attention:
In our App, we use many images and attractive combination
of color with design for different features which boost up
attractiveness of App. Therefore, user can visit again and can
save favorite restaurants. Overall design is clear and large
enough user can read and access easily.
• Retention:
We tried to keep design of app simple with clear limited
information. Our App is very easy to access and user do not
have to spent much time to get familiar with it. Large buttons,
images and information with precise content provide a way
to navigate easily throughout the App.
18. Simplicity Review
Organize:
• This is the first law we are implementing in our
project, This app is focusing on how well to organize
the functions/features that makes the system of
many appear fewer using SLIP principle for our app.
• S-Sort L-Label I-Integrate P-Prioritize.
• We are trying to Sort the features/items in the app
effectively for example to have search feature and
location users are looking, having a Write Review
option , View Review option, Categories of food,
Restaurants details after the search sorting these
helps the user to navigate through the app easily.
19. Organize
• By Labeling the categories of food like Mexican, Indian,
Chinese, Indo-Chinese, etc. it will help user to quickly find
there favorite cuisines.
• By Integrating or combining the similar groups of items in
our app, it may be according to cuisines, deals, events,
etc. it will help users to group/integrate restaurants
according to how user wants. This helps user use the app
thoroughly for what they are searching.
• By Prioritizing the search in our app they can prioritize
there search criteria either by selecting Cuisines, Deals,
Events, Location or the restaurants that they marked as
favorite which makes it easy, save time and quickly can
decide the restaurant.
Simplicity Review
20. Simplicity Review
Reduce
• This is second law that we are implementing in our
project.
• This app is also focusing on easiest way to simplify and
how well interface can be made user friendly, since we
are trying to have lot of features incorporated in this
mobile application, we are using SHE principle to
implement this Reduce simplicity law in our app.
• S-Shrink H-Hide E-Embody
• We are trying to increase the amount of information
provided to the user in precise way by
reducing/Shrinking the number of pages to navigate the
app easily and number of inputs from the users.
21. Heuristic Evaluation
• We put the survey and taken feedback from users after they used App
for couple of days.
• Most of the users satisfied with App and like it’s functionality.
• Most of the user feels App is efficient.
• Few of them gave feedback to add more features for this App.
• Read Me: Please find attached file for Survey and Responses for our App.
22. Accessibility
Simple and easy to use:
• All buttons and design are clear and easy to find
which makes easy to understand the design. Hence,
user do not need to have any prior knowledge.
Minimizing Errors:
• Design of our app minimize the errors and hazardous
consequences of any actions to be performed by
users.
• User can navigate all pages simply click on particular
page such as Search restaurant, maps, events, etc.
23. Did you improve targeted E for
specific population?
Engaging:
• After initial design we improved targeted E for age
from 18 to 25 years population
• With attractive, simple, easy and efficient design
user always keep engaging with App and it’s
features.
• User always find something interesting to
navigate.
24. Future Work
• If we will continue this project, we would first send
this to our friends again and ask there feed back,
would do some survey and interview on how they
feeling about the interface, features, also the overall
experience of app features, learn from the users
what was needed and improve accordingly, also
concentrate more on the interface make them more
flexible for users and by adding some extra features
that would be necessary.
• Yes we would try continuing the project and make it
work almost like real
