3. Conjugation of the past continuous
 The structure of the past continuous is:
Sujeto + was/were + verbo con terminación ing (gerundio)
Exempla's:
Conjugación Significado
I was working yo estaba trabajando
you were working tú estabas trabajando
he was working
él estaba trabajando
we were working nosotros estábamos trabajando
you were working vosotros estabais trabajando
they were working ellos estaban trabajando

4. Denial in the past continuous
 Negation is formed by simply adding the adverb "not" between the verb "to be" (was /
were) and the main verb of the sentence:
Structure:
Sujeto + was + were not + verbo con la termination ing (gerundio)
Exempla's:
I was not singing
Yo estaba cantando.
He was not singing
El no estaba cantando.

5. The question in the past continuous
 To construct the query simply the verb "to be" and the subject is reversed:
Structure of the question:
Partícula interrogativa + was/were + sujeto + verbo con la terminación ing (gerundio)
Exempla's:
Conjugación Significado
was I singing? ¿estaba cantando?
were you singing? ¿estabas cantando?
was he singing? ¿estaba cantando?
were we singing? ¿estabamos cantando?
were you singing? ¿estabais cantando?
were they singing? ¿estaban cantando?

6. Use the past continuous
 The "past continuous" is used to
Actions that began in the past and want to stress that had a certain
duration
Exempla's:
I was eating an apple, when I fell to the ground
Me estaba comiendo una manzana cuando caí al
suelo
In this prayer is described in the past continuous action of eating
the apple had a certain duration but the drop was instantaneous.
