The shoulder joint is a ball and socket synovial joint formed by the articulation of the glenoid cavity of the scapula and the head of the humerus. It is called the glenohumeral joint. Stability is maintained by the coracoacromial arch, musculotendinous cuff, glenoid labrum, and muscles. The shoulder joint has capsular ligaments, coracohumeral ligament, transverse humeral ligament, and glenoidal labrum. It contains three bursae: subacromial, subscapularis, and infraspinatus bursae. Blood supply comes from the anterior and posterior circumflex hum

ANATOMY.
TOPIC -
SHOULDER JOINT.
2. TYPE _
The shoulder joint ball and socket vareity of synovial joint.
ARTICULAR SURFACE -
It is the formed by articulation of the Glinoid cavity of scapula and the head of
humerus.
So it is called glinohumeral articulation.
It is a weak joint because Glinoid cavity is small and shallow to hold the head of the
humerus.
STABILITY MAINTAIN BY _
● Coracoacromial arch.
● Musculotendinous cuff.
● Glenoid labrum.
● At the same muscle and atmospheric pressure.
