connected to the topic Traveling.
2. Learners present their lists, by reading
them.
3. The teacher presents another list, written
on the blackboard, and asks learners to
complete their lists.
6. Group Work + Brainstorming+ Individual Work
1. This activity may be done in another way.
The learners may also be grouped and be
left to write down a list of words connected
to the topic Traveling.
2. The teacher presents to each group a list
of words prepared in advance, out of which
the learners are to choose those words that
are unknown to them and complete their
charts individually
7. Table Completion

individually, or in pairs, it is at the teacher’s
discretion, and are asked to complete the
table that may be either prepared in advance
on copies, or written on the blackboard

10. Miming
For this activity the teacher should prepare the words
to be mimed in advance. The words are cut in stripes
and set in a bulk on the desk.
This activity may be done in two ways.
1. The teacher asks one pupil to come in front of the
classroom and mime the word, the learners should
guess it and pronounce it.
2. The teacher divides the class in two groups. Out of
each group two learners come in front of the
classroom. They choose a word, a word for two,
mime it, and the learners at their desk should write
the word the word mimed. The group that has most
of correct answers wins a point. At the end of the
game, the points are counted and the teacher
decides the prize won.
11. Multiple Choice / Matching
1. The classical way to work with multiple
choice activities is that the teacher or the
book provides the words and the definitions
and the learners are to match the words to
their corresponding definitions
2. A more interesting method might be to ask
the learners to provide the definitions to
the words. Afterwards to gather all the
definitions, and form groups of learners
give them the definitions and ask them to
find the appropriate words for them.
12. Slap the word
This activity is adored by learners of all age. It
is simple to perform. The teacher writes on
the blackboard a number of words to work at
the lesson. Then divides the class in two
groups. Each group sends a representative who
is to find the word according to the definition
given by the teacher. The learner who founds
the word pronounces the word, and wins a
point for the group. The group that wins most
of the points is to be awarded with a prize
decided beforehand.
13. Bingo
This activity is very simple, easy to perform,
and may be used for evaluating the vocabulary
at any learners’ level.
Crossword
This activity is easy as well, but it needs
preparation in advance. Yet, to make it easier
to perform, the teacher may ask the learners
to come up with a crossword and ultimately
have it share in the classroom activity.
14. Word Hunt
For this activity, the teacher needs to prepare
in advance the word hunt sheet. Though it
might be considered difficult to compose, the
moment you try it is extremely easy, and fun
to do for you as a teacher as well.
15. Interviewing
This activity is very inter-active. The teacher
prepares the tasks in advance, writes on the
blackboard, or has the tasks on cards and asks
pupils to complete it.
The learners are to complete the interview
card by wondering around the
classroom, mingling and trying to complete the
chart with as many answers as possible.

17. This project may be given as a task in
advance and ask learners to complete it
gradually as the topic is studied along the
unit. Or, it is the teacher’s call, to let
learners work on the project for a period of
time and present it whenever the dateline is
set.
