Utilizing the cloud can provide robots with access to extensive resources of data which cannot be maintained in the
typical on-board memory. Enabled by the cloud, interaction with other robots and exchanging massive amounts of data
in real time will enhance the quality and speed of operations.

Currently, a high number of robots and automation
systems still operate independently and separately, using
on-board computation, memory, and programming. With
the spread of networking in the cloud, new approaches are
available where processing is performed remotely with
access to dynamic, global datasets to support a range of
functions.
Cloud robotics has the potential of freeing robots from
computing constraints and make robots “smart enough” to
handle challenging situations. Advances in Big Data help
to deal with the vast amount of data generated by sensor-

Robots is the concept of "Industrial Internet of Things" or
the " Internet of Robotic Things (IoRT). It is based on a
cloud-connected system, where all machines are
constantly exchanging information, learning, and growing
as a single fluid system. Therefore, it can learn to simulate
scenarios and autonomously recover from malfunctions,
increasing the output tremendously. IoRT utilizes sensor
data from a variety of sources which are retrieved and

line.

is possible for corporations to 3D print full robots in

versatile and organic shapes with key features such as the
correct strength-to-weight ratio. 3D printed internal parts
including actuators, muscles, and batteries will turn robots

Smart order picking systems provides solutions to the

product storage and relocation, as well as inventory.
These systems replace picklists and provide the employee

quantities. This is realized via light display at the
withdrawal box (pick-by-light), voice output via headset
(pick-by-voice) or smart glasses using augmented reality
(pick-by-vision).

warehouse and storage.
It is estimated that less than one in
five warehouses are using radio

structure. Industrial applications of exoskeletons aim at
reducing on-site injuries while tasks are completed faster
and with higher quality results. Workers should stay
healthier and experience increased stamina while
companies gain greater productivity in factories and on
construction sites. In addition to military use in support of
the soldiers, especially the rehabilitation medicine
researches on this topic. Thus, the mechanical support is
already used for walking training in paraplegics.

Exoskeletons can physically support employees in production, e.g. in the repair of equipment, machines etc. as well as
generally physically intensive (production) tasks.
