Bernard Arnault moved from real estate to luxury goods. He first acquired the nearly bankrupt company Financiere Agache, a luxury goods company. He turned it around and then won the bidding for Boussac Saint-Frère, the textile and retail conglomerate that contained the brand, Christian Dior.
