To differentiate the difference
between the topics
To analyze the importance of
technology in the students
learning process.
TABLETS IN SCHOOL
For Philippine schools , even for private ones
catering to children of the well-to-do
families, the so-called Tablet-for-learning is
still futuristic. Given , however , the
recognized of technology in education, the
future may not be too far.
. . . BOOKS
Today books are still the primary
medium of instruction in most schools.
Already, the disadvantages of using
books for learning are being debated
upon. For school-graders, the load of
books for every subject are
backbreaking due to their weight and
size. The errors in public school textbooks
have also been exposed, errors resulting
from wrong information , technical
mistakes and editorial lapses.

Today, technology is being viewed as
a savior. Educators have begun to
think that the computer screen can
very well serve as a powerful
educational medium. From studies,
educational video gaming has been
shows to inculcate competencies
that relate to learning concentration ,
lasting memory recall and higher
visual literacy.
De La Salle Experience. . .
In DLSU, the future is now. Administrators, teachers,
parents and other stockholders have met to discuss
the use of tablets as a primary learning tools to
replace the textbooks.
Information Technology product manufacturers have
given the De La Salle school support by way of
customized Tablets design that are conducive to
higher thinking, constructive and participative
teaching-and-learning.
Developing software using the Tablet
will entail the participative of
teachers who will have to be trained
in preparing interactive graphically-
rich and effective learning modules.
This wont be a problem as teachers
wish to assume the new role of
teachers for a digital generation.
Tablets for schools. . .
Use of Tablets in Public Schools in the
country maybe difficult considering certain
factors:
a. Cost of one tablet for one student is not
within budget capability or beyond
capability of government.
b. Books are more durability compared to
any gadgets
c. Technical expertise for the learning
software as not widely available.
Discussion/ Evaluation. . .
 A debate of which between the books
and the tablets is more convenient to use
in public schools.
 A scenery about using tablets in school
and how it helps the students in their
learning process.

Administrators, teachers, parents and other stockholders have met to discuss the use of tablets as a primary learning tools to replace the textbooks. Information Technology product manufacturers have given the De La Salle school support by way of customized Tablets design that are conducive to higher thinking, constructive and participative teaching-and-learning.
  • 8. Developing software using the Tablet will entail the participative of teachers who will have to be trained in preparing interactive graphically- rich and effective learning modules. This wont be a problem as teachers wish to assume the new role of teachers for a digital generation.
  • 9. Tablets for schools. . . Use of Tablets in Public Schools in the country maybe difficult considering certain factors: a. Cost of one tablet for one student is not within budget capability or beyond capability of government. b. Books are more durability compared to any gadgets c. Technical expertise for the learning software as not widely available.
  • 10. Discussion/ Evaluation. . .  A debate of which between the books and the tablets is more convenient to use in public schools.  A scenery about using tablets in school and how it helps the students in their learning process.
