Starbucks Scholarship
To Whom It May Concern:
In the 20 years I have known Marielle Howman, I have seen her grow from a
kindergartener with missing front teeth to the accomplished young woman she is
today. She has always possessed the qualities of teamwork and leadership, and her
career at Starbucks seems to have magnified her innate abilities.
Marielle has always thoroughly enjoyed being part of a team. As a child, she was at
her best in group activities where she could contribute to a greater effort. Whether
it was Girl Scouts or YMCA camp, she seemed to enjoy being “we” more than being
“me”.
In the past few years, she has blossomed into a focused, results-oriented young
woman. She sets financial and personal goals, she honors commitments, she relates
well with others, and above all she is kind and thoughtful. I’ve seen her at work,
where she displays the same sense of teamwork she had as a child. She is also
learning how to lead and motivate others.
Recently, Marielle was accepted into Alverno College, where she has plans to
complete her degree and pursue a career in Human Resources. As an HR
professional myself, I think she will do very well. I hope you will strongly consider
her for the Starbucks internship. She is truly worthy of your consideration.
