Travel and tourism is responsible for 10% of global carbon
emissions. The Paris Climate Agreement mandates
significant carbon footprint reductions, presenting the travel
and tourism industry with the tremendous challenge of
enabling the recording, offsetting, management and
reduction of carbon emissions at the level of the individual
traveller.

TraNeXus’ Mission
In a world that embraces financial and economic liberty,
our mission is to empower travelers, and citizens, to drive
transformation in the travel and tourism sector as it
confronts the existential challenge of climate change.
We will complete this mission through the development
of technologies that create an immutable record of
travel-related carbon footprints on the blockchain, on
behalf of the traveler, and the travel product suppliers.

• TraNeXus will place blockchain at the core of the sector’s response to the impact of travel and tourism related carbon emissions.
• TraNeXus will enable travellers, in concert with travel product suppliers, to choose the “green” option.
• TraNeXus will ensure that this choice creates an immutable record of travel-related carbon footprints on the blockchain, on
behalf of the traveller, and the travel product supplier.
• TraNeXus will capture the carbon footprint of travel and tourism activities and make it available for carbon offsetting, and
individual and corporate carbon tax calculations and accounting.
• TraNeXus, together with like-minded partners, in sync with the Paris Climate Accord, will build a community of travellers,
committed to low carbon, Smart Impact-Travel, aligning with The Known Traveller as defined by the World Economic Forum.

• Acuto, a WISeKey-based Secure Wallet, is a multi-
purpose wallet that secures the digital identity of the
traveller, holds currency, and also serves as an assembly
point for all digital documentation for any trip; Past,
Present and Future.
• Ultimately, Acuto will become the go-to place for e-visas,
tickets, boarding passes, hotel bookings, itineraries and
more. It is the foundation for TraNeXus’ goal of aligning
with The Known Traveller as defined by the World
Economic Forum.

SMARTER GREENER BETTER

• Cogno, the TraNeXus Mobile Travel Assistant module, is
designed to link with popular travel services. This enables
TraNeXus travellers to locate products from companies that
promote Sustainable Travel Products and Services,
including acceptance of Carbon Accounting Offsets
through the use of TNX.
• Having a TNX based offering will enable product owners to
interact directly with TraNeXus travellers ensuring Carbon
Accounting as a fully integrated feature in the travel
industry supply chain.

• Exploro, a Destination Explorer module, enables Quests,
leveraging the fun and engaging aspects of Augmented
Reality and utilizing the blockchain for the secure exchange
of content.
• Quests can be generated by Travel & Tourism companies,
offering varying TNX based rewards, which are released if a
traveller meets predefined parameters.
• Travellers will also be able to earn experience points and
badges for completing various travel-related and green, low
carbon activities.
• There are numerous other options within the Quest program
– for example rewards may be sponsored with the option for
the traveller to “give back” by ceding some or part of the
prize to the community at the destination.

Most recent research, including by Nielsen, concludes:
• There is a fast-growing interest in green tourism among
travellers.
• Experience-seeking Millennials and Generation Z’s.
• Businesses are responding with green products and
stronger Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
To drive adoption we will :
• Provide access via online and mobile applications.
• License the TraNeXus modules for embedding in existing
and new traveller-facing applications of travel providers,
hotels, airlines, travel agents, etc.
Target Market

• We’ve devised a method by which the carbon emissions value for any transaction is recorded on the blockchain.
• We have sourced the broadest and most detailed emissions dataset. This can be provided as a scheduled batch update, and
eventually through a live API.
• The record generated includes the geolocation of the transactions and the associated emissions values, and whether the
consumer and supplier agreed to offset.
• It is anonymised for consumers.
• It is available as layered organisational emissions data for suppliers. This does not include the consumers identity nor the
lifecycle of the product or service.
• This provides consumers and suppliers with an immutable record of their carbon emissions that can be used for all sorts of
scenarios including individual and organisational carbon accounting, and the inevitable carbon tax laws that we will all
subscribe to.
• We have chosen the travel and tourism sector by way of an example. It will demonstrate how a carbon accounting and
offsetting mechanism is integrated for any sector that choses to conduct its remittance using Stellar Lumens.
• Ultimately, it provides the ability to view global carbon emissions data by transaction type, supplier, value and geolocation.
