Recycle, now we are
going to learn about
the 5 R’s through this
presentation which is
Reduce, Reuse, Refuse,
Repurpose and
Recycle.

3. INTRODUCTION
Do you know why we learn about these 5 R’s of environment?
You will learn about these R’s to know the importance of nature,
that how can we save our nature from the unwanted waste and
over exploitation. As you all can see that our nature is depleting
day by day due to these constant exploitation by human beings.
So how can we contribute our part in saving our nature?
You can do this by following these 5R’s of maintain the
environment. When you will apply these on ourselves, you will
be able to see the positive changes around us and also the
positive changes on the nature and environment.

4. 1.REFUSE
So, First of all you all are going to learn about the
first step among the 5 R’s, that is Refuse. You
should avoid the unwanted things and should buy
and use only the ones that we need, as it creates
less wastage.
You should know how to limit the wastage of
anything or should try to not at all waste anything
if that is possible.
The refuse to the wastage can start from your
homes, for example-Refuse to the usage of plastic
bags as you can use cloth bags or jute bags for the
alternative methods, Refuse to the buying of large
amount of food that can not be consumed at one
time, etc.

5. 2.REDUCE
Now that you have learned to refuse, further on
you are going to learn about how we can reduce
the wastage. You should be aware of the amount of
which you have to use something or do something
in order to reduce the wastage of that product.
It will be a very efficient as well as it will save us
time, money and resources which plays a very big
part in the saving the environment .
You can reduce the wastage by doing simple things
like Reduction in the usage of plastic waste,
Reduction in the wastage of water, paper, food, or
any other resource, etc.

6. 3.REUSE
Now that you have learnt about refuse and reduce,
let’s learn about reuse. You should reuse the items
and products that are still working after one or two
use. Many people tend to through the things after
just few uses which creates the big amount of waste
in our surroundings.
You should try to use the products and items in
your home till its full consumption capacity which
will lead to less wastage.
You can reuse the items and products and limit the
wastage by doing some simple things like Reusing
the cleaning cloth, Reusing the rough papers, etc.

7. 4.REPURPOSE
Now that you have learned about refuse, reduce and
reuse, so now you are going to learn about repurpose.
Repurpose is about using things in other places other than
its original place when its original purpose of using is
finished.
Normally we can use some things as an all purpose, so
once you are done with one certain thing but you realize
that it can be used somewhere else too, so instead of
throwing it and using that as a waste, you can use that at
an another place too.
The repurpose can be done at your homes too. For
example- Repurpose of the glass jar that was once a jam
container into an pickle container or any other thing,
Repurpose of the plastic containers or bags till they are
not usable anymore, etc.

8. 5. RECYCLE
Lastly, we are going to learn about recycle. Recycle is about
making the waste reusable again by processing it. Or you
can do it yourself if it is possible. We recycle because our
mother earth cannot make all the waste into compost
instantly as well as there are some products like plastic that
can take millions of years to turn into compost.
You can recycle these waste that can be reused by recycling
to save the wastage, over usage, etc. You can help those who
recycle by putting the waste appropriately in the green and
blue dustbins. You should also use the cost efficient recycled
goods available in market to promote recycling.
You can contribute in recycling the wastes in many ways
like Recycle the papers and use recycled notebooks, Recycle
the plastic wastes so that they can be used again, Recycle
the food wastes by using it as a fertilizer.
