3.  Drugs – “natural or synthetic materials that exhibit the ability to alter
the normal functioning of the body”;
 Legal drugs – “legalized drugs which are produced and traded
freely”;
 Illegal drugs – “drugs whose marketing is prohibited by law”.
 Addiction – “continued repetition of a behavior despite adverse
consequences, or a neurological impairment leading to such
behaviors”.
 Psychological addiction – “dependence on a psychoactive substance
for the reinforcement it provides”.
 Physical addiction – “high dependence on a substance or drug
preventing the body cells to function without it”.

 Jobs are needed to give people a role in society;

 Psychological rehabilitation of the addict;
 Social reinsertion.
