I maintain an effective Records Management (RM) program for the Hill Air Force Base
installation and ensure organizations properly establish, maintain, and dispose of records IAW
with current directives and policies. I compile information on and analyze the data of the Base
RM Program; establish local policy (AFI supplement and various checklists) to implement higher
headquarters directives and objectives, and ensure information provided is properly written and
format is correct. I assess the RM program as a whole and oversee the training of all personnel
assigned RM duties to include development of training documentation and new classes to aid
FARMS in a better, more functional program. I work with FARMs and RCs to ensure they are
trained IAW with prescribed directives and, once trained, to establish files plans for their
organizations using the AF Records Information Management System (AFRIMS). I review file
plans created in AFRIMS for accuracy and compliancy. I ensure training is accomplished with
required timeframe. I conduct staff assistance visits (SAVs) to each office of record to
determine compliancy with applicable program directives. I analyze facts gathered and
recommend improved practices to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the RM program,
and present them at monthly FARM team meetings. I develop annual SAV schedules and
conduct SAVs for 72 Functional Area Records Managers (FARMs) at least once every 24
months. I perform weekly BOS (Base Operating Support) Inspections appointed as an
Inspector General (IG) using IGEMS (IG Evaluation Management System) to report results to
higher headquarters. I direct the FARMs in conducting SAVs with the Records Custodians
(RCs) at the Offices of Record level. I create and manage SAV discrepancy reports and ensure
the FARMs and the Chief of Office of Record correct the identified problems. I conduct follow-
up visits to ensure corrections are made until compliancy is met. I oversee the Electronic
Records Management System (ERMS) and provide computer support to ensure an effective
electronic RM program. I resolve customer ERM issues via Remedy by updating Active
Directory with changes requested. I ensure proper Privacy Act (PA) and For Official Use Only
(FOUO) permissions are in place.
