The 12th Annual Manhattan Open was held August 2-4, 2013 at the New Yorker Hotel. The tournament was sponsored by the Continental Chess Association. Loren Weiss was among the players competing in the U2300 section. He was part of a four-way tie for the prize award, which went to the top U2150 rated player(s) in the section.

3. About Loren Weiss Stuyvesant
 A graduate of Stuyvesant High School, Weiss
is currently an undergraduate at the University
of Michigan. He has earned the title of
Candidate Master from the U.S. Chess
Federation, where he has a Junior Ranking in
the 99.2 percentile.
