2. Religious Music – the oratorios of George
Frideric Handel declined in usage and became
more similar to operas.
 examples will be those made by Franz Joseph
Haydn, whose works bear similarities to that of
Handel.
 In the place of oratorios, operatic music became
the more frequently played form of religious
music.
