advocating for refugee rights in the community.

- Coordinated quarterly ESL testing for 45+ youth.
- Maintained database for Jewish Federation Grant
- Taught parenting classes and managed quarterly assessments of adults in
classes.
- Co-founded, with other resettlement agencies, citywide ESL and parenting tests
and databases (1st of its kind in the US).
- United Iraqi community, refugee organizations, and Chicago Public Schools in
community development meetings and workshops to resolve persistent community
conflicts.

youth systems to make sure they were well integrated and supported in schools.

they completed over 2,000 service hours throughout the 2009-2010 year.

- Co-founded community organization that hosted relational dinners with usual
attendance of 200+. Each event had the goal of inspiring interaction between all
sectors of society (students, professors, homeless, low-income, city-council
members, businessmen and women).
- Negotiated catering services and facility usage with multiple organizations
throughout city.
- Recruited and directed volunteer base of over 50, while advertising creatively and
extensively in region to build turnout.
- Program officially adopted and sustained by City of Spokane as an annual event
of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, and now is into its 9th
year of existence.
