Legacy International, State Department- Morocco
- Conducted workshops throughout Morocco on NGO strategies for 140+ young
nonprofit professionals and social innovators. Training topics included fundraising,
organizational storytelling, and social media.
- Acted as 1 of 4 American delegates in this US/Morocco civil society exchange.
- Learned from and advised 10 civil society leaders working on various issues
across Morocco.
GEIR- Washington, DC
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative reports on the relationship foundations have
with their grantee partners.
- Coordinate and hold in-person surveys with targeted grantee partners in the
NorthEast region of the U.S.

The Advocacy Project- Washington, DC
- Directed organization as one of two staff, managing the implementation of over
$300,000 of funds and the work of 30+ interns, fellows and contract workers.
- Developed and implemented strategy for this international grassroots development
organization to support capacity and peace building in post-conflict areas.
- Managed competitive fellowship program that paired graduate students with
international community-based organizations focusing on human rights in over 15
different countries.
- Oversaw logistical, human resources, accounting and development work of entire
organization, including original media/social media content, web-based advocacy,
and fundraising strategy and implementation.
- Fundraised and conducted outreach through panel discussions, Advocacy Quilt
exhibitions and gallery events, donor and alumni outreach. Raised over 16% of our
budget in donations and grew AP’s network substantially.

2. PEACEBUILDERS FELLOW
Center for Conflict Studies at Middlebury University- Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
- Implemented field research about water conflict in Ethiopia with story-telling focus.
- Conducted over 40 interviews and traveled extensively around the country to
collect stories about water and community development.
- Published stories through multimedia blog, website, transcription and print media.
- Created all original writing, photos and videos, as well as co-designed publication
media.
- Maintained expansive professional network of agencies, individual activists and
actors, and relevant parties related to water issues in Ethiopia.

Heartland Alliance Refugee & Immigrant Community Services- Chicago, IL
- Recruited, trained, and managed volunteers for two separate services at
Heartland Alliance: Refugee Family Services and English language teachers for
adult learners.
- Grew volunteer program from a base of 40 volunteers to over 100 active
volunteers.
- Managed a caseload of 250+ refuge families providing wrap-around services, and
advocating for refugee rights in the community.
K-12 & ELDERLY CASE MANAGER
Heartland Alliance Refugee & Immigrant Community Services- Chicago, IL
- Coordinated quarterly ESL testing for 45+ youth.
- Maintained database for Jewish Federation Grant
- Taught parenting classes and managed quarterly assessments of adults in
classes.
- Co-founded, with other resettlement agencies, citywide ESL and parenting tests
and databases (1st of its kind in the US).
- United Iraqi community, refugee organizations, and Chicago Public Schools in
community development meetings and workshops to resolve persistent community
conflicts.
- Managed a case-load of 100+ refugee youth working with schools and Chicago
youth systems to make sure they were well integrated and supported in schools.
- Oversaw case load of 30+ people with disabilities and elderly refugees, advocating
for refugee human rights in healthcare services around Chicago.

BONNER LEADER STUDENT DIRECTOR
Whitworth University's Center for Service Learning- Spokane, WA
- Supervised 25+ students and their unique service placements around Spokane as
they completed over 2,000 service hours throughout the 2009-2010 year.
- Coordinated group activities, retreats, and planned semi-monthly enrichment
seminar.
- Hired new Bonner Leaders and placed them into established positions around the
city.
- Designed new positions as needed with community partners and organizations.
- Oversaw cohort of Bonners who planned school-wide Urban Plunge and
Alternative Break trips – extended service-oriented trips for entire student body.

3. CO-FOUNDER - FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Spokane, WA
- Co-founded community organization that hosted relational dinners with usual
attendance of 200+. Each event had the goal of inspiring interaction between all
sectors of society (students, professors, homeless, low-income, city-council
members, businessmen and women).
- Negotiated catering services and facility usage with multiple organizations
throughout city.
- Recruited and directed volunteer base of over 50, while advertising creatively and
extensively in region to build turnout.
- Program officially adopted and sustained by City of Spokane as an annual event
of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, and now is into its 9th
year of existence.
