1. War Horse
This book is based on a horse named Joey who gets raised by a
teenage-boy named Albert. Albert lives in Devon, England. Albert’s
father has to pay rent so he sells Joey to the army in 1941 to get
money. It took place during and after the First World War. Horses were
needed greatly at the time as well as soldiers. His owner, Albert longed
for Joey while he was away. This story tells of a great friendship
between a person and a horse, and it tells of the horrible time this
beautiful bay-red horse went through. Albert joins the army later
hoping to find Joey and becomes blind fighting behind enemy lines.
2. War Horse can break your heart, because it's such a sad, joyful, and
touching story. You may have mixed emotions throughout the story.
Sensitive readers should not read this book.
If I had to rate this story overall from a 1-10 scale I would give it a rate
of: 10
