Because…
53% of adults own a tablet in
North America. [2]
And,
tablet users consume 25% more
page views than smartphone
users due to its screen size. [3]
4. As a result…

7. some retail stores have
set up high-tech
mannequins to gather
information from
connected on-lookers to

8. However, people took action once…
… they realized the amount of personal data being collected by these apps and technologies. [6]
This shows that people were unaware of the breach in contextual privacy in mobile life.

10. Unfortunately,
in an interconnected world,
mobile can become ill-
equipped to deal with threats
of hacking and cyber-attack
[7].

11. Despite these issues, all the numbers are pointing to a steady shift towards mobile.

Research showed that…
m-commerce will reach $284 billion,
or 45% of the total US e-commerce
market, by 2020. [9]
M-commerce is on the cusp of
becoming the go-to habits for
shoppers.
14. As the mobile grows,

17. In this case,
it shows that businesses are

retailers will get better at
advertising on mobile and
optimizing their m-commerce
experience before their e-
commerce experience in order to
capitalize on this. [12]

commerce should occur along with the sense
of security. Today our digital footprint can be
easily tracked. As the consumers become very
receptive to new conveniences like m-
commerce, companies need to incorporate
very clear rules/outlines regarding the
protection of one’s personal and financial
information to prevent the misuse. Otherwise,
the adoption of m-commerce will likely cause
an issue.
