Provide detailed descriptions from chosen examples that establish…
Setting
Clearly state what production technique(s) you think have
been used to create specific soundtrack elements
The setting of this game sounds likes it’s based in a post-apocalyptic world where
humanity have been pushed to the brink of extinction on their new home planet
where they have lived in peace for many years. The voice over explains the setting,
and the footsteps of the soldiers proves that the setting is on land.
A voice over has been used in the trailer probably
in a soundproof room and using a microphone.
Audio editing software has clearly been used in
the music aspect to edit the pitch of the audio.
Sound effect props were also probably used like,
revving a chainsaw in the sound recording room.
Mood
The mood of this trailer sounds very dark and sinister, it uses deep, low pitch audio
to get this effect, and also includes the sound of a cold voice of a women.
I think audio editing software has been used to
adjust the pitch and tone of the audio. The
deepened effect helps with the dark feel of the
trailer, and this effect works well with this kind of
game sequence.
Game genre
The game sounds like it is an action survival or shooter, since the audio explains how
humanity is on the brink of extinction, and soldiers are fighting against the cause of
humanities rapidly diminishing numbers.
Narrative
The Voice over is crystal clear and a sound
recording room with a high quality microphone
has been used to get crisp quality of the tone of
voice used in the sequence.
The narrative of this sequence explains how humanity has been pushed to the brink
of extinction by the evil forces that have been in hiding for many years.
The narrative describes the situation of the
human race almost being extinct, and this once
again, is done with using a microphone in a sound
proof room, with slight pitch adjustment.
