Axolotls (Ambystoma Mexicanum) are species of salamanders native to only a lake complex in the Mexico City. They present a model for regenerative science and researches have utilised information from Axolotls' ability to regenerate body parts as a medium for understanding concepts of stem cells, mutations and tumor suppressions. These information can lead to breakthrough discoveries for humans in cancer research and regenerative medicine science.
