“Social media is one tool that is breaking down
barriers and opening up opportunities to connect,
dialog and build network. Social media is evolving.
Social media is no longer trivial. Social media is
already transforming philanthropy and advocacy
including grant seeking and grant management.
Understanding the constantly evolving best practices
related to the intersection of grants and social media
while maintaining ethics and competencies is critical
to being competitive for grant funds moving
forward.”

The force is still strong with
email
Where are people spending
their social media time?
So what does all of this mean
for arts organizations?
If you are not already using social
media and other web tools you
may be missing out on grant and
fundraising opportunities as well as
opportunities to share with
potential funders, thank donors,
and more.
Standout to funders by:
Pick one or two social media
sites to:
• Engage with your audience, students,
alumni, funders and community
• Say thank you to funders and
organizations
• Show potential funders and patrons
what you are all about by sharing
posts, videos, links and photos
Remember to add a call to
action
People want to help, but they need reminders. After nearly
every social media post, include a call to action. These
can include things like “share this”, “Spread the word,
please", "donate now”, etc.

forfundraising/
Don’t miss a thing, by following local,
state & national arts donors on social
media
