This lesson plan outlines two meetings to teach 9th grade mathematics students about the volumes of cylinders, cones, and spheres. In the first meeting, students will work in groups to derive the formulas for the volumes of cylinders and cones. They will complete worksheets and present their solutions. The second meeting focuses on deriving the formula for the volume of a sphere and having students practice solving related problems in groups. Assessment includes group work, presentations, quizzes, and homework.

G.Learning Activity
First meeting
Introduction (± 5 minutes)
(Phase 1: Clarify goals and establish set)
1. Teacher generally presents the learning objective that is finding the formula
of volumeof cylinder and cone
2. Apperception: Leads the students to recall the material that had been learned
before and correspond with the material that will be discussed such as
volume of prism and the area of circle.
3. Motivation: Motivates the students by relating the material that being
discussed with real life situation, for example:
“To celebrate the independences day,
class IX-A will bring „tumpeng‟. They
make a tumpeng for 25 persons. and
they estimate for each person average
need 0,2 lrice. Calculate the height of
the tumpeng if they will bring the
tumpeng in a circle place that have
diameter 6 dm”
Main Activities (± 60 minutes)
(Phase 2: Present information)
1. Teacher reminds students about the volume of prism and circle. Then, the
teacher tells to students that they are going to find the formula of volume of
cylinder and cone.
(Phase 3. Organize students into learning teams)
2. Teacher divides the class into 5 heterogenic groups.
3. Teacher gives a worksheet to each group and asks them to do the
worksheet.
3. 4. Teacher tells the students that after doing the worksheet they have to
present their work in front of the class.
(Phase 4. Assist teamwork and study)
5. Teacher assists each group as they do their worksheet.
6. One of each groups presenting and explaining their group report and some
student in other groups give comment to it
7. The students and the teacher discuss about the right answer
8. The teacher asks to the students about the first problem solving
9. The students answer problems by their own ways
(Phase 5. Test on the materials.)
10. Teacher give a quiz to students to check students understanding
Closure (± 15 minutes)
(Phase 6: Provide recognition)
11. Teacher gives feedback and appreciates the result of every group.
12. Teacher gives a reward to the best group that has the best score.
13. Teacher give home work to the students.
