I am writing this letter in strong recommendation of Mrs. Irène Côte-Wurzler. I have known Mrs. Côte-Wurzler for six
years while I served as principal at Christ the King School, and in that time I have come to know her as a skilled and
devoted educator who takes her roles seriously. She is not only talented in the classroom, but she establishes herself as
a leader among the faculty, and her efforts are dedicated to contributing to the entire organization.
Mrs. Côte-Wurzler’s contributions to improving the French program at Christ the King have been phenomenal. Her
students were testing so well in placement exams and performing at such a high level in their high school classes, that
one of the local high schools requested to collaborate with her in bolstering their own program, in order to keep those
students on their trajectory. She has managed this, because Mrs. Côte-Wurzler consistently provides rigor along with the
support necessary to help students meet her expectations. She is also consistently seeking ways to grow as a
professional. She is enthusiastic about new instructional methods, and always open to creative ways of incorporating
technology to improve the experience of her students. She develops meaningful relationships with her students, and has
an affable rapport with them. This creates a safe environment in which children feel free to take risks – essential in
learning a new language! She encourages self-advocacy, accountability, and high behavioral standards. She is quite
simply, a pro.
Though her skills as an educator are superb, one of Mrs. Côte-Wurzler’s most valuable characteristics is her dedication
to the mission of the organization in which she works. She understands that it is not enough to bury oneself within the
four walls of a classroom, but indeed the school’s success is her success. She works collaboratively with colleagues and
willingly gives her time to serve the needs of the school as they arise. She holds standing roles on multiple committees
and brings a positive energy to everything she does. She is what an invested teacher looks like, and the whole school
reaps the benefits of her devotion.
