3. Sexual Harassment: A form of sex
discrimination that violates Title VII of the
federal Civil Rights Act of 1964 (most states
have similar laws prohibiting sexual
harassment). Unwelcome sexual advances,
requests for sexual favors, and other verbal
or physical conduct of a sexual nature
constitute sexual harassment when this
4. conduct explicitly or implicitly affects an
individual's employment, unreasonably
interferes with an individual's work
performance, or creates an intimidating,
hostile, or offensive work environment.
Sexual harassment also includes gender
harassment and harassment based on
gender identity as well as sexual orientation.
6. Unwelcome Conduct: A criteria to gauge
whether certain actions constitute unlawful
harassment. Sexual conduct becomes
unlawful only when it is unwelcome.
