resources for soil protection, conservation and

1. Participated in soil pollution symposium lobbied soil practioners to
join
2. Participated in soil biodiversity symposium 19-22 APRIL 2021 AND
lobbied soil practioners to join
3. Soil Doctor programme (SDP)
a. Participated in the Launch of SDP
b. Several of our national goverment and other soil institution has applied to
promote the soil doctor programme in the country awaiting FAO response
c. An NGO supported by FAO to roll out 10 SDP packs to farmers
4. Pillar 2: Encourage Investment, Technical Cooperation,
Policy, Education, Awareness and Extension
1. Policy and Legislation development
a) Conservation Agriculture policy approved by NEDLAC and ready for Cabinet
b) Preservation and Development of Agricultural Land Bill submitted to Parliament
for avoidance of land sealing
2. Held a collaborative meeting with soil science society and partners for
possible formation of nation soil partnership
3. Created a national soil video hosting Mrs South Africa to appeal to
broder public, youth and women

Held virtual celebration on soil biodiversity with ZZ2 private farm and Agricultural
reserach council
5. Pillar 3: Promote targeted soil Research & Development

resource mobilisation ongoing
2. Capacity building for higher eduction on spectromoter and mobile

measurements & indicators for SSM
1. Member of GLOSOLAN and participate in the meetings
2. Joined the laboratory network and our laboratories participate in
the network sessions and activities
3. Joined and participate in spectrometer working group
4. Rolling out capacity building at agricultural colleges on soil survey
and fertility analysis using mobile dry analysis and wet analysis
5. Bought and distributed 250 pH meters and 11 hand held
spectrometer to facilitate dry field analysis and other soil survey
tools
