How does your media product
represent particular social groups?
Similarities
• The similar area’s to these two images, by how they
are creating a similar pose, with their arms lent over
and they are crouched down. This pose is also
similar because I think they are trying to create the
same effect, by showing swag and a dope look,
which creates a hip-hop feel to the magazine.
• It is also similar as they are using the same shot
type, by using a long shot, crouched down.
Differences
However even though the images are simular by
pose there are many differences that you can
pick out. Such as the lighting is completely
different, mine is shown as very dark showing
the more ‘grimy’ side of hip-hop and XXL
magazine is showing a lighter side. Also the XXL
model has a black and white effect over them
and mine shows the true colors on them.
