Context
We started to build up our e-commerce business
back in January.
We saw positive steady results in
transactions/revenue in Jan-March acc. to Shopify.
Whathappened?
Though we continued to see high numbers for April in
Shopify, we saw a big drop in transactions/revenue in
Google Analytics.

Since we use GA and other measurement tools to track
user behaviour on our website, we have to comply with
GDPR and TTDSG. This includes giving website visitors
an easy option to reject tracking.
In early April, following an audit by the DPO, the
consent banner was adjusted to comply with legal
regulations and it now offers an easier way to reject
tracking than before resulting in higher opt-out rates.
