Is there a Payroll in the Cloud?
– Yes, but be aware that the solution is basically the SAP ECC
Payroll solution and SAP simply host the servers
– Any payroll implementation would need on premise payroll skills
to configure/setup
– Payroll managers/HR administrators would still access the SAP
system, only remotely.

What’s available?
– As market leading HCM solution providers, SAP and SuccessFactors have come
together to offer their customers the best of both worlds.
– SAP will continue to provide a market leading on premise HCM solution, but
SuccessFactors brings with it a fantastic range of cloud based core HCM, Talent
Management and collaboration solutions with an excellent range of pre-delivered
metrics and cloud based benching marking tools.
– SAP understands the investment customers make within their on-premise
solutions and are not positioning SuccessFactors as competition but simply as
an option for customers.
– Whilst you can still choose to have either solution independently, SAP also offer
a new ‘Hybrid’ model.
– With this choice you can use the core HCM on premise solution as the main
employee database, to run all of your time based and payroll processes, but then
choose the cloud solution for all your Talent Management processes.

SAP present two possible ways of implementing the Hybrid Model:
– Use core SAP on premise for all basic HR processing of master
employee data, payroll, time etc and then SuccessFactors for all Talent
related processes (Performance, Recruitment, Learning, Succession
etc)
– Use the core SAP on premise solution for your main head
office/personnel department only, then SuccessFactors for all satellite
offices (dependant on functions required)

Germany (recently re-located from Holland)
Many potential customers question the security of a cloud solution,
In reply SuccessFactors...
– Openly invite customers to send across their best security
experts to Germany to try to break/crack it
– Have ‘Symantec’ the market leading anti virus company (i.e.
Norton) as one of their customers...really is no better reference
available!
