Ratan Tata is an Indian businessman who is the former chairman of Tata Sons. He oversaw the growth of the Tata Group into a global business conglomerate. Tata Motors, part of the Tata Group, launched the Tata Nano in 2008 as the cheapest car in the world starting at about $2,500. 11. TATA NANO In January 2008, Tata Motors launched Tata Nano It has been nicknamed the “People’s Car.” Nano car cost 1,20,000 rupees . But on road cost Rs. 1,46,725 Tata has set up a factory in Sanand, Gujarat and the first Nanos are to roll out summer 2009.
