3. PURPOSE
• The purpose of my magazine will be to offer the reader access to interesting
new films coming out, that apply to the featured genre, this will interest the
reader as their excitement about an upcoming film will be increased the
more they hear about it.
• The magazine will offer readers insider information about new films and
where they can be viewed,
• The magazine will also offer entertainment to those interested in this genre
of film. This would benefit the readers as they are able to read about what
goes into making a film with behind the scenes information.
• The magazine will inform the readers about jobs in film that are currently
available which will be appealing to the readers.

4. PRICING AND SUBSCRIPTION
• The magazine will create a new edition monthly which will feature a
different genre in each
• The magazine will cost £4.99 to purchase one copy of the magazine ,
this includes a physical copy and an additional online version for those
who prefer this , for those who only want a digital edition the cost will
be £2.99
• A subscription will cost £60 a year and will include a 15% discount to
customers for a Netflix subscription

5. UNIQUE SELLING POINT
• My magazines unique selling point will be advertising
jobs that are currently available and will inform
readers about roles available if they want to work in
film, this will enable us to earn additional funding as
media companies will advertise their jobs in our
magazine. Media companies will be interested in this
as the employees they are looking for are likely to be
interested in my magazine

6. CONTENT
• The magazine will feature an independent film on the front
cover referencing the middle pages where the film is featured
and reviews are showcased, enticing headlines will be written
to encourage readers to look inside the magazine.
• We will ensure graphics and pictures will also be used to
make the magazine appealing to the audience, The colour
scheme would change depending on the main genre in that
issue, for example for horror, red and black would be used
because these colours represent the genre, however the
majority of colours used in the magazine will be bright as this
will ensure the magazine stands out. My unique selling point is
the magazine will present job opportunities to readers
interested in working in film, there will also be competitions
available to win free tickets to see new feature films which are
from the featured genre.

7. GENRE OF THE PRODUCT
• my magazine will focus on all genres of film, each issue
of the magazine month on month will focus on a different
genre of film, for example comedy or action. This is
because it is important for us to cover the entire market
rather than just appealing to one group which would
occur if the magazine was to focus on only one genre,
this would lead to the market for our magazine being
limited. This links to the brief as cine cloud pictures
explicitly requested to feature an independent film of a
certain genre which will be featured in the magazine
based on this genre.

8. TARGET
AUDIENCE
• The target audience are likely to be 20-40yrs
old as people in this age group may have a
large interest in upcoming films and would
read magazines to find out about what is
coming out soon,
• The magazines target audience are fans of
specific genres who are of any race, gender
and class. This is because the magazine
focuses on many genres meaning anyone can
find something they are interested in.

9. MARKETING METHODS
• my magazine will be marketed by creating a short
term partnership with a successful magazine , this
could be done by having a free short section of the
magazine included inside the already successful
magazine, this benefits us as it allows for us to have
access to the customer base of this magazine which
will spread awareness of our magazine, this would
be cost effective as we can sponsor the other
magazine or give them a percentage of our profits,
this will allow for advertising without having to spend
large amounts of money.

10. RESOURCES AND PERSONNEL
• the personnel needed will be…
• An editor to design the magazine and ensure the magazine will be
engaging for readers, an advertising department to advertise the
magazine and to ensure the feature film is advertised, a journalist will be
needed to write the articles and ensure the magazine is interesting, a
programmer will be needed because a website will need to be created to
tell people information about upcoming editions of the magazine.

• Cameras as photos will need to be taken to feature in the magazine,
glossy paper will also be needed as the magazine will be written on this.
glossy paper will be used as this is better quality than matte paper and
stands out more to the audience , therefore glossy paper will be used in
the magazine, a website to advertise upcoming editions of the magazine
and what content will be involved with them is also going to be needed,

11. DISTRIBUTION
• The magazine will be distributed along with a ticket in
local north London cinemas, for example – Vue, Reel
cinemas or Everyman , a deal will be made between the
magazine and these cinemas to help promote the
magazine, the magazine would then in return advertise
for this cinema.

COMPETITION
This magazine is about featured and upcoming
comedy films, this focuses on the comedy genre
which will mostly interest fans of this genre, however
my magazine is inclusive of all genres which gives
us an advantage over comedy review magazine.
This magazine is competition for my magazine
because many fans of comedy will be interested in
my magazine but are unlikely to buy more than one
magazine
This magazine is about top horror films , this
focuses on the horror genre which therefore is
competition for my magazine because the
magazine is genre related , however this
magazine focuses on only one genre , where as
my magazine will focus on multiple genres , this
will give my magazine a larger audience than this
magazine.
