Creating my artwork : Character Screens
Insert image into Photoshop

Select area of where the character is

Create new layer via copy so that I still have the original

Make sure that the whole character is selected and not extra is.

Go the the menu bar and select filter and then go into the filter gallery

Select the Cutout filter

Change the sliders on the right till desired effect and look

Continue to tinker with the sliders to get a more realistic look with my artwork

Once happy with effect select okay and new altered image is in place.

Then add name of character and either line of characters dialogue or line said about the character

Once happy with effect select okay and new altered image is in place.

For this image I had to add some separation to the image to make it easier to parts of the body such as finger and
separate the hands from the body of Sgt Angel as well as the guns that he is holding

After adding in the basic outline of the image I then went into the image with a rubber to get rid of some empty
space in the image so that the image can add more stroke on the image

I then went onto the image with a similarly sized brush and drew around areas that were more difficult to rub out
and auto generate a stroke and I created my own stroke

For this text I decided to use Fuzzy Cops as this font is very similar to the font used for the title screen of Hot Fuzz
and this helps to cement that this is a Hot Fuzz fanzine.

The subtly of the

script. We can
see Joyce’s dark
intention from
the very first time
we meet her
I made this fanzine for people who would call themselves massive fans of the
Cornetto Trilogy as the final version of my fanzine changed from more informative
into more of an artistic journey.

Online Presence
I created an online
presence for my fanzine so
that I could continue to
show off my artwork to the
public.
