According to Tuckman's group life cycle model, there are 5 stages of group development: 1) Forming, where the group's purpose is unclear and members avoid responsibility; 2) Storming, where differences in goals and roles arise and members challenge leadership; 3) Norming, where direction becomes clearer and the group communicates better; 4) Performing, where members are responsible for tasks and the group works for the whole; and 5) Adjourning, where the group reviews achievements and ends or begins a new phase.
