One day in 1999



my academic advisor told me:



“Byeong Sam!
Stick with one thing,
if you want to have
great success in this field.”



I wanted to be...
- a world famous artist (Art)

- a C.E.O. of a company (Money)

- a professor (Knowledge Sharing)

- a cultural activist (Community)

- a world traveller (Freedom)



Is it really
possible?



“Byeong Sam!
If you run after two
hares,
you will catch neither.”

My advisor
emphasized again.



For many years...

Many people told me that
my life goals were too broad
and too ambitious
so it is almost impossible to
achieve all.

My parents were so worried
about me.
My advisors didn’t like me.
My GF kicked me out.
My friends said “You are messy!”



Yes, I was a loser!



13 years later
(Now)
- I present my artwork worldwide.

- I run a corporation ‘KoIAN’.

- I regularly teach in universities.

- I work on social activities.

- I travel around the world.



Isn’t it
nice?

the Age of Convergence!

The era, a loser in past
can be a leader today.


Why is the CONVERGENCE
important in this era?



For centuries, each discipline has
contributed to solve problems and has
significantly expended the amount of human
knowledge.

Not because it is trendy or sounds fancy,
but because it is a useful way
to solve sophisticated problems today
by the style of 21st Century.



Digging one well…



Digging one well used to be the
best way to have great success in
the past.

But, today, at the bottom…
of the well, you may feel lonely, dark,
cold, and difficult to get out of it to
see friends.



If you have to dig a well, then, Dig in the border line
