• As per govt. of India , “startup means an entity, incorporated or registered
in India-
- not prior to 5yrs
-with annual turnover not exceeding 25cr. In any financial year, and
-working towards innovation , development , deployment, or
commercialization of new products , processes or services driven by
technology or intellectual process.”
-provided that, such entity should not be formed by splitting up, or
reconstruction of a business already in existence.
Note:- To get exemption it has to obtain two certificate from inter ministerial
board of certification-
-Certificate of Eligible startup
-Certificate for Tax Benefits for Eligible Business
