3. INTRODUCTION
NREGA aims at Right to work.
launch in the year 2006.
Renamed as mahatma Gandhi national rural employment act on 2/10/2009.
It was introduce in 200 district of the country & later extended to all district in the
country.
Main aim of this act to Inhance purchasing power of Rural people.

Scheme was introduce in 2006
by the Govt. of India.

Livelihood in The Country.
To provides Employment
During Slack Season of
Agricultural Activities.
Provides 100 days work In
Rural area.
5. OBJECTIVE OF STUDY
The basic objective of this act to enhance Livelihood Security in
Rural areas.
Effect of MGNREGA on migration from rural to urban areas.
To compare wage differentials between MGNREGA activities
and other wage employment activities.
Provides at least 100 days of Guaranteed wage employment in a
financial year to every BPL & APL households whose adult
Member.
6. AIMS
To provide at least 100 Days work per annum within 5 km Radius near
to his house.
Equal Wages for Men & Women.
At least 1/3 (33%) of women
Ensuring Women Empowerment & Social Equality.
Lowering Of Rural-Urban Migration.
PRI institution to have a Principle Role In Planning &
Implementation.
7. Main Provisions of MGNREGA
Act
• within 15 days then Daily Unemployment in
cash is to be paid.
• Employment within 5 km Radius.
• At least 1/3 Beneficiaries have to be women.
• Gram Sabha will Recommend works.
• Gram sabha execute at least 50 % of work.
• PRIs have a Principle role in planning &

13. IMPACT OF MGNREGA ON INCOME IN
MEGHALAYA
The living condition of the respondents is poor.
They are mostly daily wage labourers and farmers. Agricultural labourers do not
have their own land.

21. CONCLUSION
Increase their purchasing power, lead a quality and heathy life with all the basic
facilities and provide education to their children.

had not toilet facilities.
