2. Putting It All Together
• If your manuscript is not
contained in one continuous
file, your files need to be
merged before production can
begin.
• For a fee, AuthorHouse will
merge your file for you as one
of the many self publishing
services we offer. If you wish
to do this, be sure to rename or
label the files in chronological
order.

3. Merge Files Yourself
• To begin, open a new blank document. Save it as a new file.
• Go to Insert on your top toolbar. Click File.
• A window will pop up. Locate the first file you wish to merge.
Perhaps each chapter is saved as a separate file. Locate Chapter 1.
Click Insert. You have merged your first file into the document.
• Complete this step to add more files. Be sure to place your cursor at
the location where you want to add the next file. For example, to add
Chapter 2, place your cursor at the end of the first chapter’s content.
• If you want a chapter to begin on a new page, click above the chapter
title. Go to Insert and select Page break. Press Okay.
